About Me
- Maria
- God has blessed me tremendously with an amazing husband, Doug, and two gorgeous little boys, Gavin and Joey. It has always been a dream of mine to have a large family but God may have other plans. I had a series of 6 consecutive early miscarriages when trying for baby #2. We are currently trying for baby #3 after our 7th miscarriage. I am faithful that God's plan is perfect, even when I am not happy about it. I love comments and meeting new followers so please don't be shy!

God's Fertility Clinic- A Book Review

I decided that I wanted to see what books were out there that could help me navigate through this dark time. I selected two different books that both showed promise. Interestingly enough, an appointment with my RE (Reproductive Endocrinologist) turned on the first light I had seen in a while by telling me there was no reason not to try and that Doug's medications would not interfere with our efforts. But, the books showed up and I started reading anyway. The first book was shockingly far from what I was looking for, expected, or could even finish reading. I may at some point in the future share more about that book but right now, I am very excited to share about the second book I picked up moments after closing the first.
God's Fertility Clinic, written by Jean Warner, was everything I needed. For the first time since I was in college, I was searching for a highlighter. I had to settle for an ink pen since I am sure my only high lighters are probably tucked somewhere in my Classroom Management and Organization book. The words in the book really spoke to me. Jean shares testimonials of women who were struggling with fertility and were brought to Jean for prayer. They shared how they prayed and were soon blessed with children. Jean pairs these testimonials with passages from the Bible along with easy to understand explanations of the stories. I know sometimes I get bogged down in following someone's interpretation of the Bible especially when it seems to be made into an explanation for whatever agenda they have. Jean doesn't have to shape, interpret, or force any of the stories to prove what she is saying because what she is telling us is true. It is of God.
Jean's book, God's Fertility Clinic, left me feeling recharged, rejuvenated, and really looking forward to the next child God has for me. I would like to share just a few of my favorite lines from her book.
We must first be pregnant with the Word of God to experience God's miracle. This is so obvious but still so profound. I think I have spent so much time wanting to be pregnant that I forgot to grow big and pregnant with the Word of God. My priorities got very twisted.
Isn't this so true? I have found myself planing so many seeds of doubt, negativity, and darkness that it is no wonder that I haven't yet fallen pregnant. I was telling myself not to get excited. I made sure I expected the worst. It was almost like I was walking around challenging God to cheer me up instead of having complete faith in Him.
Many people plant words in their lives like seeds being planted in the ground. But instead of planting seeds of hope and faith, they plant seeds of doubt and bitterness. They cannot see the harvest of a miracle when all they had planted were seed of doubt, anguish, and bitterness.
I really feel like I have had the dark cloud lifted so far from above my head. I am so happy that God will give me another child! I don't know when it will happen but I have faith that it will!
If you want to buy the book ($7.99) you can click here. If you would like a copy but are unable to obtain a copy, please contact me to see if I may be able to locate a copy for you.
Please note that I am in no way being compensated for this post. I purchased this book and really just want to share it with as many people as I can!

The Organic Fertility Bible Giveaway

After digesting all of that helpful information, this book goes on to point out many lesser known contributing factors to infertility. While there was a lot of attention payed to the BPA in certain plastics, we may not be aware of the toxins in hundreds of products that we are exposed to every day. Many of these are linked to an increase of infertility as well as miscarriages. This information, while a bit tough to swallow, is important to consider. Not just for coping with infertility or miscarriage, but for our lives in general.
The book also clearly defines a diet that they feel will greatly improve fertility. I will warn you that the diet might be drastically different from what you currently eat. The recommendation is vegetarianism with the ultimate goal being a raw foods only diet. I can certainly appreciate this kind of lifestyle. I am even willing to see how this diet could likely lead to a very healthy lifestyle which always helps when dealing with infertility. As a farmer of grass fed beef cattle, I can't commit myself to this level of dedication.
If you are looking to try something new, that can really change your life, and may also improve your chances of conceiving and reducing your risk of miscarriage, this book has a lot of really helpful information. I like many of the ideals that this book talks about and it forced me to consider some other aspects of my environment that I now recognize needs some changes. This book introduces a really great program for those of you who feel ready to truly commit yourself to really making your body and lifestyle as healthy and baby friendly as possible. My opinion is that this book isn't necessary in order to get pregnant, because really, women all over the world are eating Big Macs and Taco Bell and getting pregnant. But, this book could really benefit one's lifestyle, health, and could also lead to a happy and healthy pregnancy! Now, who doesn't want that?!
Please check out their website where they offer a money back guarantee!
Not only was I lucky enough to get to read this book, I am lucky enough to be able to share it with one of my lucky readers!
Please note that I was not compensated in any way for this review. All opinions are my own! Thank you to the sponsor for providing the product for my review.

The Incomplete Womb- A Review
About a week ago I was given the opportunity to read The Incomplete Womb by Kit Byrne. This book is a open, honest, and heartfelt journey of a woman coping with several steep road bumps on her path to bearing children. As I read, I found myself nodding in agreement with her emotional descriptions of what she learned, how she coped and some of the soul crushing moments that I, too, have found myself struggling with.
My favorite chapters described several coping strategies she implemented in order to help her keep her feelings in check. She managed to recognize, by using these strategies, what was truly important, how to change what she could, and forgive herself for what she couldn't. These strategies were simple, easy to implement, and refreshingly normal.
This book also serves as a guide book to women who are just finding themselves navigating their path with unexplained infertility, endometriosis, and other issues that most women never dreamed they would have to say aloud, let alone have a functional understanding of. She does an excellent job of explaining many of the terms and procedures that one may encounter on their own journey. I feel compelled to say that if you have been on this journey for a long time, as I have, a lot of the information is an introductory course.
I would absolutely recommend this book to any woman who has been recently diagnosed with unexplained infertility. Also, if you have had a miscarriage or two and aren't sure where you fit in the world of fertility specialists and doctors, this book may also be very helpful in helping you feel like you aren't alone.
I wish no one had a story like this to tell, but I thank Kit for being willing to share so that other women can learn form her. I am so sorry, Kit, for your countless losses, and many struggles, but love that you are turning your misfortune into a way to help others. Congratulations on your happy ending!
